Leap Start 2012

Starting college in a suburban area was an adventure that I needed to find the true value in keeping up with your studies. I learned to balance study time with fun group freshmen event time, I learned how to network, also how to accept help where it is necessary. I felt that going away to college was appropriate for someone of my age, an 18 year old African American female should be able to handle living with a whole new human body for 3 months and handle her academics. Although the academic part can as natural as combing your hair after a sweating exercise run in the gym elliptical, living alone was something that I was not prepped for, although prior you would’ve believed otherwise. Some adolescents do not know when they’re ready to leave the nest, some can accept never leaving the nest because they have always needed that push to get the genius going. I was an exception in my family of pushers. My mom and I are the type of women who can go head first and start a brilliant idea, and not even notice the reactions we cause around us. This is why my major fit perfectly with my innovation and my bubbly persona.

I have learned that the best form of entertainment, according to Aristotle, is theater art: the imitation of life. Most of the movies and plays that have made us laugh, cry, and even want to experience a relationship of some kind, whether it be love, vengeance, or mutual growth; the truth about theater art is it inspires us to feel more emotions than we usually would. It is a form of mockery (some would call flattering imitation) of those who are performing the lives of those who have played a significant part of national and international history.
